The following transcript is really, by far, incomplete. I'm grateful that this snippet has popped up, but there is at least another 25 minutes of interview hanging out around somewhere... and I hope that the someone who has it posts it online! :)
Best new questions:
Who will narrate Breaking Dawn? (Question 2)
Do Bella and Jake still have a chance? (First question after the video break)
Two videos were used for this transcript: Video One and Video Two. Hooray for WinterPolaris!!! I'm not really sure which comes first, which is why there are questions 1-4 and then A & B. I don't *think* I'm going crazy....

Audience Member: ...... Or what, is it on the website, what's the deal with this?
Stephenie Meyer: Midnight Sun. This is the deal with Midnight Sun. OK, so it started out as this one chapter I was going to write. And then some people have been worried because I've said some places online that I don't have it under contract, and that's still the case. It's not because my publisher doesn't want it. It's because I already have too many things I'm behind on and it's a lot of pressure to know, "Oh! by November 8th of 2009 this has to be done." Even a year in advance, it's really kind of scary. So I, to keep my sanity, am waiting until it's completely written before I get into any contracts. I imagine that as soon as I get done with book four, that will be my next project, and hopefully we can get these out on a yearly basis, but no promises. OK, right here in the front.
Audience 2: I was wondering, for Breaking Dawn, is it going to be ***** as well as Bella's?
Stephenie Meyer: She's wondering about the perspective on Breaking Dawn. I always forget to do this first. First of all, I'm not going to tell you anything about Breaking Dawn. I - you know- and there's been some confusion about things. Bella is telling the story until it's wrapped up. Pretty much. I mean, there is - there are minor variations like the epilogue. I really - I don't want to say too much about it, I do have plans maybe someday in the future to do a book from another person's perspective, but Bella and Edward and Jacob have to get all those loose ends tied up. OK, yes.
Audience 3: OK, at the end of Eclipse, and how you left the end a little ambiguous, has he lost himself or is he going to?
Stephenie Meyer: At the end of Eclipse, and I can't tell you what he's going to do, at the end of Eclipse he's trying very hard to lose himself. That's where it ends. OK, the man in the black jacket.
Audience 4: I have kind of a very minute interesting question. And probably nobody else cares. but I'm a guy.
Stephenie Meyer: That's why you got called on.
Audience 4: Alice shows up in Carlisle's S500 at Bella's house. She recognizes that car. Carlisle is in upstate New York near Albany. Did he have his car in long-term parking? *crowd laughs*
Stephenie Meyer: The Cullens did not take their cars with them when they left. They were in the garage, which is quite large and they can fit all kinds of cars you guys haven't seen
** New Video**
Stephenie Meyer: This is what's surprising; it surprises me because as an author you think that you make yourself very clear, and then you find out that you're totally obtuse all the time, and um, I thought that I was very clear at the end, but then I've seen a lot of speculation online. "In the next book, if Bella and Jacob get together, then..." I thought that ship had sailed. *laughter* I dunno, so apparently there was more mystery than I thought. But no, Bella definitely made a very firm decision at the end of Eclipse. OK, blonde with the gray tank.
Audience A: Um, who's your favorite character?
Stephenie Meyer: OK, who's my favorite character? And then after that, I can tell you who my favorite child is? *laughter* I - I can't, that's not one that I can answer because I love everybody in different ways and at different times. When I'm writing about Edward, and I'm really getting into his motivations, I'm all swept away. And then when I start writing Jacob and I'm looking at his side, I'm in love with him. And so it just sort of depends who I'm working on. But I do have a soft place in my heart for Emmett. *crowd screams* And then, even characters like Seth Clearwater. Seth is so adorable. OK, in the green, right here.
Audience B: Oh, um, well my question is, um, well, it's hard to explain, really, but um, who inspired you to create Edward for this series?
Stephenie Meyer: She wants to know who inspired me to create Edward. Um, Edward is a fictional character. More so than many, I think. I think a lot of characters are based on reality. Edward was not. He was someone that appeared to me in a dream, and there was never any hint of any other person that I've known. There was a few other characters in there, Jessica, Lauren, and Angela are all composites of different kinds of friends I had in high school. The good, the bad, and the ugly. *crowd laughs* Mike and Eric, similarly, boys I dated. *More laughter* And then the one character that is actually ... *video ends*
