This post would have been utterly impossible without the following:

The Twilight Lexicon, where people send all their stuff, Anexiarin, ImAnAlice, rosastania26, simplymortal14, sweetishbubble, and VampiresHaveFangs.

If you were present at this Q+A and have more information or somehow otherwise know what order these things occurred in, please let me know and I'll add you, too! =)

WOW! This one is long and fantastic! I thought my arms were going to fall off transcribing it, but it was well worth the pain. This one talks a ton about  Stephenie's favorite books and authors and .... I just love it.  I also think it's a great one to listen to for Stephenie's character; it's obvious that she is much more comfortable talking in this setting than she is talking in front of thousands of fans.  Also has good information about The Host.

Pretty standard, but a couple of fun tidbits.
Which was her favorite book during writing? Question 14.
What would she say to the characters if she met them?  Question 8.
What is your motivation for the series? Question 16.
Who would you choose if you were Bella? Question 17.
Why didn't Edward ask his sisters about a blood singer, too? Question 15.
Why don't you have African-American characters? Question 20.
Who drives the story - you or your characters? Question 21.
On Jacob Black... (similar to what appears on her website)
And, by the way, she wanted to be a lawyer.

MissMaudlin is awesome. Thank her for the videos! (No, that's not poor grammar. It was a command - go thank her. Now!)

Hi, Indigo customers.  I'm Stephenie Meyer and I'm really excited to tell you about my upcoming novel, Eclipse.  One of my very least favorite questions to answer is, "Oh! I heard you wrote a book.  What's it about?" When you tell them, "It's about vampires and romance, they immediately kind of say, "ohhh."  *rolls eyes*  I hate that reaction because it's not really a vampire novel; it's not a horror novel, and it doesn't doesn't really have the right connotations when you say "vampire, romance."  You think you know what it's about, and you don't.  It's a lot more about, to me, people who are in love and just one of them happens to be a vampire.

It's hard to pick a favorite scene, but the heart of Twilight is chapter thirteen, the scene in the meadow.  That's the scene that started it all.  There wouldn't be a story without the dream that I had that I wrote down that became chapter thirteen.  That's where it all got started.

People ask me a lot if the characters are based on people I know.  For the most part they're not.  And then the ones that are, it's more subconscious.  I remember once when a reporter asked me if Bella's family was based on mine and I had to laugh because Bella is an only child with divorced parents, and my parents have been married for thirty-something years and there are six kids.  And I realized while I was talking to him that my family is much more like the Cullens.  Until that moment I hadn't realized that there were so many similarities; that Carlisle really is kind of based on my dad.

One of the fun things about continuing a series is that you get to spend more time with characters that started out small but that develop into important people in this story.  In New Moon, Alice's character got to see more action and have more interaction with Bella and it was a lot of fun because she's an exciting character to write.  In Eclipse we get to find out what happened to Rosalie and Jasper, which I think a lot of people are looking forward to.  And then there some other minor characters from New Moon who become key people in this story.  I can't say who they are, but I'm excited to see how people react to them.

Because the Twilight Lexicon rocks big time, and because I haven't had as much time to transcribe lately, for now I'm just linking up their version of the Q+A from the BYU Symposium.  You can read what they've got here and you can view some videos of the session under BrittinaJ's YouTube submissions.  I will transcribe the full interview, but it is low priority right now, folks.
