Stephenie: Luckily.  it was one of those great things.  It was a gift.  OK, in the brown, and I think that this is our last question. 

Question: .... from New Moon, was it actually Victoria in the water? 

Stephenie:  Was it Victoria in the water in New Moon?  Yes, indeed, it was.  She was - she is a coward, and I think you can tell from the end of Eclipse.  Her gift is running away.  So whenever she puts herself into a fight situation she's really not at her best.  And so she kept making little tries and never really put herself in danger, and then in the end when she did finally put herself in danger, it didn't work out so great for Victoria.  But she was trying all along.  Bella was right about that.  Sometimes the paranoid are being followed, right?  *laughs*
